Where to begin?

“What is your lead time?” That seems to be the burning question lately. The short answer is, our lead time changes weekly, if not daily. The reason for this is because of the process and time frame. We feel it’s very important for customers to understand how the process works and why most jobs are scheduled out months ahead.

The first step in the process would be to send us a sketch, measurements, or layout of your countertop space. Be sure to include any material choices you are interested in getting pricing on as well. If you don’t know exactly what material you want, knowing whether or not you want granite or quartz is enough to get the estimate out to you. You can do this by visiting our “contact us” page.

What material to choose?

If you aren’t sure about what material you’d like, the staff at Roc City Granite and Marble can recommend choices for you. When we receive your information, an estimate will be sent to you via email. If you don’t have measurements or a sketch, that’s ok. A technician can come to the site and do a measurement for you. But please note that if the technician comes that will require an appointment, and we are currently scheduling out 1-2 months out. Providing us with measurements will ensure that you receive an estimate within 48 hrs.

Received a quote, then what?

Once you receive your estimate, we can schedule an appointment to look at samples of materials and help you with making a choice. At Roc City Granite and Marble we have lots of samples to choose from and even have cabinet sample colors and sink samples to help match and give you a better idea of how it will look in your kitchen.

Do you have to know exactly what material you want to use in order to get on the schedule? No. Many times our customers change their minds after seeing other choices, and that is ok to do earlier in the process. But in order to get on the schedule, a deposit is required (information on this will be sent to you once an estimate is sent).

When a deposit is made, an appointment for a template/measure will be made. At this appointment, our technician will come and complete a template/measure of the area so that we have precise measurements for fabrication purposes. Typically a template/measure is done 2-3 weeks prior to your installation date. Also at this appointment, the technician will confirm sink choices, backsplash and answer any other questions you may have about the layout.

Fabrication time!

Fabrication of your custom countertops will begin after the template has been drawn up by one of our technicians. But before fabrication happens, we will call you to set up a time for you to stop in and look at your material and explain how and where your material will be cut.

The most exciting part of the process is installation day! Our team will arrive at a scheduled day and time with your new countertops. The installation process can last anywhere from 2-3 hours for smaller jobs and up to 6 hours for larger complex jobs. If you require a “tear out” or removal of your existing tops, that will be done the same day so that you are not without countertops. The team at Roc City Granite and Marble will also disconnect your plumbing, but you will need to have a plumber reconnect all plumbing to ensure everything is up to code. Be sure to ask us for recommendations on plumbers.

Our team takes pride in our work and before leaving your home or business, they will ensure the area they were in is cleaned, and they will answer any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting all your countertop needs. Please contact us for any future projects!
